Vision Statement

The vision of Metropolitan Spiritual Churches of Christ, Inc., is to focus on progressive kingdom building. We will lead others to Christ by our own examples of righteous living, evangelizing, and teaching. We will cultivate a solid relationship with God in the lives of believers through study, prayer and fasting. We will emphasize a strong family relationship, which is the foundation of the Church. We will further aim to improve the quality of lives through outreach and empowerment. We expect God’s Word made manifest in the Church and in our daily lives. We will strive to live by the Word of God and not by non-biblical traditions and rituals. We will nurture the development of individual gifts and talents to edify the body of Christ. We hold fast to the fact there is only one Church set forth by Christ with many congregations and visions. We will embrace cultural diversity to bring a multi-dimensional worship experience with a limitless spectrum of potential. We will encourage and participate in fellowship with one another as well as other congregations, ministries, and denominations/reformations. Being Spiritual is not a dogma, doctrine nor denomination, it is a lifestyle! We are unapologetically spiritual in form and practice. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (St. John 4:24).

Mission Statement

Its purpose is to elevate to the Bishopric bishops designate and to train, license and ordain ministers, license missionaries, teachers, healers and prophets; to aid and assist the local churches of our National Church spiritually, administratively and financially; conduct lectures and seminars on subjects of spiritual and religious interest; assist existing churches throughout our organization in preaching, teaching, healing and prophesying and to advance spiritual truth and theology; to train ministers, healers, prophets, lay teachers, missionaries, choirs and musicians in spiritual truth, morality and righteous living according to the Holy Scriptures.

Statement of Belief

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God written by the holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (II Peter 1:20-21). In one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes, and purpose: the one and only omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent force in our universe. We believe that he (God) was revealed to us as, Father in Creation, Son in Redemption and Holy Spirit in his Comforting Grace that never leaves those who trust in him, (I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; II Corinthians 5:19; Joel 2:28). We believe in the living Spirit of the Almighty God; one indestructible, absolute, and self-existence cause of all there is. This one Spirit manifests itself in and through all creation. We know the incarnation of Spirit in man and that all men are incarnations of that one Spirit. We know that the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul is forever expanding; and that the highest power there is, is the Lord who created heaven and earth. We believe in the Virgin Birth; that Jesus was both human and divine, God truly manifested in the flesh (St. Matthew 1:23; I Timothy 3:16). We believe in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Christ Jesus the Lord. We believe that he (Jesus) ascended on high and has sent his Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 2000 years ago and is still filling the hearts of those who diligently seek him today (Acts 2:14). We believe in baptism in the water by immersion, for the remission of sins, (see Article II; Section III; B), and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4, 38). We believe in healing, that the Lord heals through and by medicine, surgery, scientific nutrition, climatic change, mental suggestion, hypnosis, being delivered from fears, resentment, self-centeredness, and guilt and by direct divine action of the Holy Spirit upon the body and the change called death which is the gateway to life eternal. We affirm that being spiritual is the result of being born of the Spirit of God, being inspired by the Spirit of God, being led by the Spirit of God. We affirm that Spirit communicates with Spirit, no matter what plane or expression of life; and that through the Holy Spirit, our aim in living is to attain the mind of Christ. We believe in points of contact, something upon which we release our faith, i.e., candles, blessed oil, incense, etc.

Further we believe in the following: the Kingdom of God, salvation from sin, Christian perfection, being born again, the Church collected, gathered and scattered, Divine Judgment, Retribution, Eternal Life, Holy Communion, Feet Washing, Man, Second Coming of the Lord, Miracles, Prophecy, Healing, Heaven, Hell, Evangelism, Tithes and Offerings (all things common), and all other Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit as given in the Holy Scriptures, the Apostles Creed, Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed. We believe on Sunday the first day of the week being the Lord’s Day because, Jesus rose upon the first day of the week, which put into effect a new covenant, a new hope, and a hope of resurrection. We acknowledge the deity of our Lord Jesus in his virgin birth, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father. And his personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule overall.

Spiritual Church Confirmation

  1. We confirm the Biblical fact that: God is a Spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth.
  2. We confirm the fact that: God is love and all that we do and say must be done in love, this being our strength and power.
  3. We confirm that all sickness comes from sin and disobedience of nature’s (God’s) physical and spiritual laws.
  4. We confirm that the change called death is only a gateway to life, that Spirit (God) was never born, and therefore can never die.
